Market Nuggets: Comex Gold Hits Record High In After-Hours Screen Trading
Kitco News) -- Comex gold hit a fresh record high in after-hours screen trading following the pit-session close, with the June futures getting as high as $1,569.80 an ounce. “The world’s investors and traders are continuing to flock to gold and silver as a safe haven hedge against rising inflation,” says Mike Daly, gold and silver specialist with PFGBEST. Also, during the course of the day, several analysts cited a weak dollar for the strength in gold. At 4:30 p.m. EDT, June gold was up $31.20 to $1,562.30 an ounce.
